Pursuing Justice For The Injured For Over A Decade

Do you really need medical care after every wreck?

Everybody is always urging car accident victims to seek medical attention after a crash — but is that really necessary in all cases?

If you’re reluctant to go to the hospital or urgent care, that’s understandable. It’s a time-consuming process. If you don’t feel particularly hurt, can you skip the doctor’s visit? No. Here’s why you should get yourself to the closest available medical facility.

It could save your life

Not all injuries are obvious, including some of the most life-threatening ones. For example, you cannot see a traumatic brain injury and you cannot see internal injuries. There can sometimes be external signs, but these can often be slow to develop or hidden by clothing. If you go to an emergency room, you will be examined by doctors who are trained to look for such signs and have likely seen them hundreds of times. That visit might just save your life.

It can boost your future claim for compensation

A medical report that is written soon after an accident can act as the pillar of a compensation claim. It reduces the chance that an insurer can argue the injuries were sustained elsewhere.

If the doctors notice something, they may well inform you to go for further checks, perhaps at a later date, which may result in you requiring more compensation than you initially thought you’d need. You might, for example, have assumed the soreness you felt in your back would just disappear with time, when it may require treatment or at least therapy.

It can be hard to decide when you have adequate information to file your claim. That’s just one of the reasons it is wise to seek legal guidance soon after a crash.
